<font color='blue'>Uzhgorod is a big city at the border of West Ukraine and Slovakia.
My aunt Ira is living there with her family. She is a doctor and with her i visited the childrens hospital, for which KIDO is collecting humanatarian goods.
Thanx to the internet we have more frequent communication:-)

Population 125,000.
In its early history, the city changed names several times: Ung; Ongvar; Hungvar; Unguyvar; and Ungvar.
Uzhgorod was a residence of old Russian Prince Laborts at the end of IX - the beginning of X century who made the City a capital Slavic city. The Uzhgorod Castle (XIII century) is one of the most valuable historical and military architectural memorials of Transcarpathian Region. Other places of interest are: the Nikolaevsk rotunda church of XIII-XV century with XIV century frescos, Episcopal Palace (1646), Cathedral (1646), Gymnasia (1784), City Hall (1810), etc. The Uzhgorod Museum of People's Architecture and Life is also interesting. It is in fact one of the first museums under an open ski (SKANSEN). The ruins of the Nevyts'kyi Castle (XIV century) are about 12 km from Uzhgorod.
