"I am not certain if I would..." Emporia Things to Do Tip by brdwtchr

I am not certain if I would say Emporia has any must see activities. My favorite place to visit is the zoo. The zoo is small but is of a good quality. The zoo is also free. Last time we went to the zoo a 'docent' had a screech owl out to show visitors. She let me pet the owl.
Once each year the zoo has an Open House event. We went to it on June 24th, 2001 and I've added some photos of it in a travelogue.

Directions: South end of town on Commercial street there is a park and the zoo is on east side of the park.
