This is the picture that brings back memories for me. This gent and his wife from the Redstone band enjoying a day's fishing at the outlet of Chilko Lake. If you look closely, the man is using a nice fiberglass fishing rod with a spinning reel...his wife, on the other hand, is using a tree branch with a short piece of fishing line tied on the end....remarkably, she was catching just as many fish as he was!

One of the larger sockeye salmon runs migrates to the lake in the fall to spawn, more than 500,000 fish. The lake also has a population of Dolly Varden char and some huge white sturgeon as well.
