"Sailing out of Lelystad" IJsselmeer Sports & Outdoors Tip by Weissdorn

The best way to tour the IJsselmeer is aboard a 36 foot sailboat with a bunch of your friends. The guy standing here with the blue jacket on is Klaus Mielcarek, owner of KM Yacht Charter, which is located in Flevoland Marina near Lelystaad.
Klaus has a number of well-kept yachts for hire so you can sail from one end of the IJsselmeer to the other. Klaus, is not Dutch; he's German, but understands Dutch very well and has a Dutch partner, Thinus, who is an original tried and true Dutch seaman, who acts as skipper, if you don't have one.
Believe me, sailing into the former medieval city of Hoorn is completely different than driving into it! And it's the same with Lemmer, Interloopen, Stavoren, Enkhuizen or Vollendam.
Equipment: Klaus's boats run as little as 650 ? per week and are fully equipped.
He has a total of 8 boats from 29 to 40 feet.
Skippers who do not have a sport vessel piloting license and reside in a country or state that does not require a sport vessel pilot's license (i.e. U.K. or U.S.) should bring proof of their seamanship in the form of a log book or a mile record book.
Address: Flevo Marina - IJsselmeerdijk
Directions: Take the highway A6 heading towards Lelystad, and then the exit ?Lelystad-Noord? and drive about two kilometers until you see the sign for ?Flevo Marina?.
