Rhodes (Island) Things to Do: 439 reviews and 881 photos

The New Town consists mainly of hotels, shops and offer a wide variety of entertainment including discos, night clubs and a casino. On the eastern side is Mandraki, a small harbour generally used by yachts. The harbour entrance is guarded by two bronze deer, but it is claimed to be the site where the «Colossus of Rhodes», one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, once stood. Check out also the medieval windmills on the pier of St. Nicolas. Opposite the harbour is a market place and the public buildings of Rhodes, fine examples of Italian architecture. There is an aquarium and a large park, Rodini, dating back to ancient times.
