Pubs are everywhere in London. A very good idea is to look down smaller side streets! Always try the real ale (large handled pumps that have to be pulled).

The pubs are open from 1100 hours to 2300 hours. They serve food and drink. Usually you can sit down! If you are really touring London, you will be on your feet a lot. Sitting down for a few minutes now and then is very nice. Food varies. Try the Ploughman's Lunch. It is usually about 5 L. Typically it consists of bread, cheese, pickle (English coleslaw) and apple or lettuce or something in the way of a fruit or vegetable.

Favorite Dish: Very close to the Globe Theatre. Nice both inside and out. Inside or outside in the courtyard or next to the Thames. It has a very nice selection of food. The interior is full of nooks. Real ale in at least one bar. Over the [Southwark] bridge and down the stairs. Proceed to the side away from the Globe.

Price Comparison: about average
