Many people want not only to learn about the Regent's Canal but also to travel on it! It makes an excellent day to start with a visit to the London Canal Museum, then walk along the canal towpath to Camden (30 minutes walk) - or you can catch bus 214 if you do not wish to walk) and then take a relaxed boat trip to Little Venice, returning either by boat or from the nearby Underground station by train. A boat trip on the canal is easily combined with a visit to the museum and the world famous Camden Market. Several companies offer boat trips on a scheduled basis. Others only deal with pre-booked groups.
