Having flown in via Toronto earlier in the day (without lunch being served), we were getting quite hungry by the time we had gone through the formalities and checked in. The first order of business was to stroll downtown (the action area was only a few blocks from our hotel) to find ourselves a good meal. We were not long stumbling onto the Market Street Brewery & Public House - an establishment that has its own microbrewery as well as great food. It is located in one of the many old buildings along 2nd street (built in the 1870s) whose original purpose was to receive goods from the Cumberland River boats at their back end (on 1st Street) and then sell it at the other end (on 2nd Street). We had a great meal of BBQ baby back pork ribs washed down with a glass of Tugboat Pale Ale!

Favorite Dish: Another great restaurant that we went to a couple of times was the Big River Grill located on the corner of 2nd and Broadway. We really enjoyed their outdoor corner seating (open air sides but located beneath floors above) as the breezes blew through on those balmy days. This was another microbrewery and we had excellent meals there of Cajun Catfish and Chicken Fajitas!

Price Comparison: about average
Directions: At or near 2nd and Broadway in Nashville
