Various: "Pub Grub - a slightly cheaper alternative" Dublin Restaurant Tip by orlikins

Dublin Restaurants: 654 reviews and 664 photos

A lot of people, like yours truly, often prefer to go for the "pub grub" option. Rather than going to a normal restaurant with waiters and service charges etc, one can just go to a normal pub, and order a perfectly good meal for a fraction of the cost.

Practically all pubs in Dublin have a bar food option within certain hours, usually between 12 - 9pm. Check if there is a menu posted up at the entrance of the pub and if you like what's on offer, go right in :)

On another note, we don't really have restaurants in Dublin with "typical Irish food". Whilst the ingredients are usually Irish, there is usually a foreign spin put on them.
If you want to order "typical" Irish dishes, I would recommend you go to a pub for your meal rather than a restaurant.

Favorite Dish: I recommend O'Neills on Suffolk St, The Bank on Dame St for pub grub in the city centre.
