C'est dans le Midi de la France que l'on trouve l'empire de la Camargue. Une région qui connait un nombre impréssionnant de diverse variétés d'oiseaux.

A special note from the WEB for people who loves birds, as my friends Steve-brdwtchr & Dave-traveldave :

In the south of France, you will find the empire of the Camargue . This is the region with the most diverse bird species. This huge marshy region, which covers the former Rhône delta, is not only the chosen country of the white horse. Dozens of bird species also visit this grandiose site. The local stars are: the pink flamingo, the cattle egret, the little egret ,and the marsh harrier .
The Camargue alone is an unforgettable sight, with its countless ponds, its pastures, its marshes and its islands of green spaces covered in olive-trees and pretty aromatic shrubs. Reeds cover the small Camargue houses and protect fields and hamlets from the violence of the winds. In winter, Bewick's swans and great egrets find refuge on this fertile soil, made up of thousands of tons of alluvia deposited by rivers over the centuries.
