"Villa Escudero is a two-hour..." Philippines Off The Beaten Path Tip by MacKiwi

Philippines Off The Beaten Path: 125 reviews and 169 photos

Villa Escudero is a two-hour drive from Manila and lies in the lush countryside of San Pablo, Laguna. A coconut plantation estate, Villa Escudero IS the Philippines countryside. Country folks in their traditional attire sing local songs and play guitars to greet visitors. Carabao-drawn carts are used to tour the plantation.

The estate's private museum houses a collection of religious art and war memorabilia. For lunch, you are brought to a mini waterfall which cascades to a gently flowing stream. A specially arranged restaurant lets you enjoy your meal amidst the serenity of nature while refreshing your feet in the flowing waters of the stream. Cultural show are arranged in the weekends.
