Puerta de Alcala, Madrid: 3 reviews and 3 photos

Favorite thing: One of the most representative monuments of Madrid. This arch was long ago one of the main entrance gates of Madrid. Now is a symbol of the town. It was built by Francisco Sabatini in 1778. The sculptures were designed by Francisco Gutierres and Roberto Michel by order of Carlos III of Spain.

Fondest memory: Plaza de la Independencia. Metro: Retiro.
