Chill out in Vinales. there are a few walks that can be done from the village. Taking a walk out of town to the west you will come across the Vinales cave which hs a bar built into it (which is a cool oasis in which to est after the walk) and is a large
nightclub affair at night. i would not recomend paying the $1USD to walk through to the restaurant on the other side. it's a bleak, boring, short and concrete spattered trek that will only give bruises to your head as compensation. the beer is more expensive when you get there too.
The Indian caves are about 7km away and are a bit disappointing due to the way you are packaged through. Theres a good makeshift kind of bar on the other side of the road where the workers frequent and therefore you can be sure of finding a more keenly
priced beer to see you on your way.
See where the tobacco comes from which ends up in the Havana cigar factories. Walk through impressive limestone caves (that somehow even manage to smell of fumes as badly as out in the street!).

Directions: a couple of hours on a tourist bus fromHavana or a 20km or so trip from Pinar del Rio.
don't stay on the main street as the loud lorries and ever present fumes will make the experience somewhat misera
