"The Museums" Brugge Things to Do Tip by tvdm

Brugge Things to Do: 1,275 reviews and 2,229 photos

There's so much to see in Brugge that I wouldn't know where to begin. But if you're into culture, visit the Groeningemuseum and the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe Kerk.
The Groeninge is the city's fine art museum with a brilliant collection of Flemish art. The modern wing in equally impressive and just next door you will find silent courtyards and the Memlingmuseum (see pic), dedicated to one of Brugge's most famous artists. The Church of Our Lady has some of Belgium's most impressive sculptures, including the grave of Charles the Bold and Mary of Burgundy, as well as the only Michelangelo statue north of the Alps: Madonna and Child. Behind the church some some very picturesque alleys lead you straight into a little square that transports you back to medieval times.

Directions: Both the museums and the church are located on or right off the Dijver, one of Brugge's main canals.
