Visit Flatford Mill, in 'Constable Country'.
Flatford Mill is famous for being the location of John Constable's settings for many of his famous landscape paintings. It is easily accessible by car from Colchester and Ipswich (the two nearest large towns).<BR>
From the actual mill (which doesn't look anything like it did in Constable's time), you can do walks through the countryside which will take you through the areas he painted. You can even hire a boat and paddle along the River Stour.<BR>
There is a small museum about Constable in the old cottage by the bridge, plenty of car parking (there is a charge and I think it was 1), and a nice place to get a snack. There is a strange museum in the old granary, with a jumble of things from all ages!

Directions: Flatford Mill is right on the border of Essex and Suffolk.
