"The picture shows the walls of..." Rabat Restaurant Tip by lichinga

The picture shows the walls of the Kasbah the oldest part of the medina. Within the medina the most interesting restaurants may be found, while the Kasbah is mostly a residential area.

Inside the medina, midway on the right-hand side of the Mohammed V street on the way to the Kasbah des Ouadias. Tiny popular place for who loves to taste everyday atmosphere and food of the medina.

Café Restaurant El Bahia

Inside the medina walls, in face of the main bus stattion. Outside there are tables for tea, inside a small yard and the reasataurant itself, in Moroccan style. Fish is the speciality of the house, but they also prepare all the basic Moroccan dishes (tajine, couscous, kefta......). Moderately expensive, worth the price (70 DRH each).

La Comedie

Very popular cafeteria on the ground floor and basic restaurant on the first floor. Crowded with young people and families, as it is one block away from Hotel Balima on the main street (Mohammed V). Basic food, quick and cheap (60 DRH each).

Restaurant La Balma

In the crucial nightlife area backing Hotel Balima (I would just guess Hotel Balima is widely used by politicians - as it is just in front of the Parliament house - so that the main nightlife area and smart restaurants are in the same area). It is clean, quiet, with candle lights on the tables, good food, but it appears far away from outside life. Worth going once, to taste a good Moroccan menu (120 DRH each) worth the price: pastilla was greatly made (for pastilla
and other Moroccan foods, you may find explanations on my Casablanca's page)!
