Bull Ring, Eyam: 2 reviews and 2 photos

This piece of stone with a metal ring in it, was used to secure a bull or a bear and then they were set upon by dogs as a spectacle for the villagers during Wakes Week. This practice was declared illegal in 1835 (thank goodness). It was discovered in the middle of the square during road works and was moved to this site in front of the Peak Pantry.
