Favorite thing: Theres so much to see in Thailand! Krabi in the south is very nice with its Limestone rocks and scenery. Its very popular with rock climbers because of the high rock formations! it has great beaches too. Ko Phi Phi Don was a great place to spend a few days. It is set way off the shore from Krabi or Phuket and can be reached by Ferry. It has great beaches and diving and snorkelling. It has a maze of small winding streets on the island and also has a pretty bust nightlife. Ko Phi Phi Lee, in view from Phi Phi don is uninhabited and is where the Hollywood film 'The Beach' was filmed. You can get there by longtail boat or on a snorkelling trip. Phuket is now an international tourist resort with direct flights arriving from all over the world. It is probably the most expensive part of Thailand and youll do well to find cheap accomodation. Patong beach is the main resort with many bars and a huge beach catering for all types of watersports. At dark, the resort comes to life with ladyboys, stag parties , hookers! Onto the East coast, you have the islands of ko Samui, Ko-Pha-ngan and Ko Tao. I didnt go to Ko Tao but if your into diving then thats the place to go apparently!. Ko Samui was great. Chewang beach is the main resort and is also now becoming an international resort but it isnt at all as built up as Phuket. It has a nice town and beach but it can be a little more pricey than other parts of Thailand. Nightlife is pretty good there and plenty of restaurants to eat out at. The best part of Thailand for me was Ko Pha-ngan! A short boat ride from Ko Samui, it is not built up at all as the roads are still all dirt roads. it is a backpackers haven with cheap accomodation and food and the nightlife is legendary with the monthly Full Moon parties in Hat Rin beach.
Fondest memory: Relaxing on Ko pha-ngan!
Walking up and down Khao San Rd in Bangkok!
A day tour in Kanchanaburi.
