"The Brandenburg Gate " Brandenburger Tor Tip by keeweechic

Brandenburger Tor, Berlin: 193 reviews and 321 photos

The Brandenburg Gate is the most well known landmark of the city and quite an imposing structure. The gate, built in 1788-91, was sealed off in 1961 when the Berlin Wall was built and became no-man's-land. It was finally reopened in 1989 after the dissolution of the border. Known as Berlin's Arch of Triumph. There were heaps of street sellers trying to palm off military souvenirs and supposed pieces of the wall.
