"Phillip Island " Phillip Island Tip by keeweechic

Phillip Island, Melbourne: 6 reviews and 5 photos

Phillip Island and the Penguin Parade is Australia's most popular tourist destination. Phillip Island, is home to Australia's Little Penguins. Phillip Island Nature Park is 140kms south-east of Melbourne and the area is designed to protect and promote awareness of the little penguins. Every night at dusk, the little Penguin's make their daily journey from the sea to the land to their burrows.

Photography was limited to non-flash but now I believe it has been stopped altogether because people were still using their flash. There is also a Koala Conservation Centre there as well.

It's a 2 hour drive down the M1 motorway, then the South Gippsland Hwy (M420) through Cranbourne to the Bass Hwy (A420), then follow the signs to Phillip Island.
