Holy Door is one of 5 entrances and it is only opened only on occasion of Holy Year celebrations. The Middle Door is the Filarete which has wonderful bronze reliefs cast by Filarete in 1433. The Holy Door represents Christ, because 'whoever enters through me will be saved'. It is decorated with 16 biblical scenes of redemption and forgiveness.
