Sydney Opera House, Sydney: 179 reviews and 312 photos

The Opera House was opened in 1973 and is the busiest performing arts centre in the world. In a competition set up to find a designer and with 233 entrants from all over the world a Danish architect (Jorn Utzon) was chosen to design the structure. In January 1957 and he predicted it would take 4 years to construct. Instead the Opera House wasn?t completed until 1973.

It averages around 3,000 events each year with audiences totaling up to two million. Take a guided tour of the complex and have all the art and structure explained to you ? its fascinating.
