Tsukiji Market, Tokyo: 50 reviews and 69 photos

Tsukiji is said to be the largest fish market in the world. Around 35,000 vehicles containing and roughly 2,700 tons of fish from around the world gather to Tsukiji Market daily. It is about 10-15 minutes walk from Ginza, and in the same road (Harumi-dori) as the main kabuki theatre. You need to get there early in the morning to see huge frozen fish carcasses being sold by lively auctioneers. The stalls within the market also sell every other kind of fresh or live seafood.
