The 244-m (800-ft) London Tower Bridge was built between 1886 - 94 and spans the Thames River in London. When it was completed, it was the only movable bridge crossing the Thames. The bridge can be raised for the passage of river traffic. Until 1976 the machinery was powered by steam but today the hydraulic machinery is operated electronically.

There is an admission is charge for the Tower Bridge Experience tour.
