Castle District, Prague: 14 reviews and 24 photos

Prague Castle is a sprawling complex situated on top of a large hill on the left bank of the Vltava River, which runs through old town Prague. It spreads out more horizontally than vertically and was the Bohemian royal palace for centuries. It is now the Czech President's official residence. Within the Castle grounds you will find St. Vitus Cathedral - Royal Palace - St. George's Church and the Golden Lane.

The Changing of the Guard takes place every hour on the hour. At noon it includes a fanfare and the flag ceremony on the Ist courtyard.

Directions: Spreads from the hill of Strahov down to the Hradcanske Square.
