"shop, shop, SHOP. Yes,..." Lucerne Favorite Tip by Krystynn

Lucerne General: 98 reviews and 131 photos

Favorite thing: shop, shop, SHOP. Yes, shopping for me centered around Lucerne's cool main street called Pilatus FILLED with famous brand names like Rolex, Bucherrer, Swatch, Piaget etc. And knowing me, I just HAD to drop in to Piaget to take a look at their watches.
Since I couldn't possibly afford one, I'd settle for the second best - Shopping at Swatch and Buccherer instead. In Buccherer, you can purchase a Swatch watch from 50 Swiss Francs or a Rolex from 2,500 Swiss Francs. Or why don't you buy their famed Swiss Army Knife (a good brand is Wenger) that boasts of up to 13 different gadgets - from scissors to saws?! Amazing. For late-night shopping, Buccherer is definitely THE place to go to. They were still opened when we popped in at 9.30PM that night.

There is also a department store here called Nord Mann if you're looking to buy some outfits or chocolates or... simply window-shop. Yes, chocolates are indeed dirt cheap here.

Fondest memory: If you're thinking of grabbing designer products like Bally or Gucci, you might as well forget it. The cheapest Bally shoe here costs over 300 Swiss Francs. (Gasp). And the dresses here are also very expensive and their designs VERY dated (read: conservative and BORING). Nothing like those cool dresses found in Spain, France or Italy.

And by the way, the Swatch watches here also aren't the cheapest as I've discovered. For avid collectors of Swatch watches (like myself), AUSTRALIA sells the CHEAPEST Swatch watches! You can even buy them at the duty-free shops at the airport. So, what are you waiting for? Go call up your long-lost friends, relatives and colleagues now - QUICK!
