In 1994 during my first trip to the American West, I got to Utah later in the season than was perfect for hiking. Actually, the day I arrived the sun was shinning and it looked like the Angel's Landing and other read about hikes would be mine. But the weather looked to be turning cold and my traveling companion was sick so we got a room. It started snowing that night and the next morning all the gorgeous read rock was pretty heavily dusted with snow. It made for an even more fairy tale look to all the marvelous scenery. It goes to show you that even if you have been to all the National Parks, you haven't seen everything each has to offer. This is nature and weather is unpredictable. It makes for plans going awry sometimes but can also make for some spectacular scenery and experiences you hadn't planned on.
