"USFS (United States Forest..." Alaska Hotel Tip by richiecdisc
Alaska Hotels: 103 reviews and 104 photos
USFS (United States Forest Service) has a range of cabins available. This cabin is from Petersburg Lake, near Petersburg, a stop on the Inside Passage. It was a beautiful 10 mile walk through a lush forest with way too much bear scat on the trail to get there. The cabin was amazing with ample wood and a chopping block out back and a free row boat out front.
$25, but you could put a lot of people in them.
Unique Qualities: Really cheap accomodation in very special locations. Sometimes you feel safer, drier, warmer, in something besides a tent. And besides, then you don't have to carry the tent!
Price Comparison: least expensive
Directions: Scatterd all over Alaska. These were my favorites.
