"Yoho National Park" Province of British Columbia Things to Do Tip by richiecdisc

Yoho is 'WOW' in Cree, a Native American dialect and that sure sums up the scenery in this often forgotten park. It is part of the massive Banff-Jasper-Kootenay-Yoho National park group that would dwarf some countries and straddles BC and Alberta.
Yoho is a lot less crowded than Banff and Jasper with some incredible day hiking and backpacking possibilities. I was there in 1994 as part of a long US/Canada camping trip so only had a few days. I would love to go back one day. On that trip, I did the Iceline, one of the park's premier hikes.
This is a fantastically well engineered trail takes you to the top of Twin Falls, across a great swing bridge, and along the glacial moraine of the Emerald Glacier. The terrain is varied and even though we did it in crap weather, I can't wait to do it again!
Directions: Right on Trans-Canada Highway, west of Banff.
