Favorite thing: <decide on a region.>

New England

Traditionally, New England refers to the six very small states in the Northeast corner of the country: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This region is compact and ideally suited for Europeans who want a taste of the country without having to spend endless time either flying or driving. It?s also quite varied: the coast of Maine is easily as rugged as Scotland or Ireland, while the coast of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut is much more akin to the North Sea coast of Germany or Holland. Flying into the region from Europe is also convenient, for there are frequent flights to both Boston and New York/Newark from most major European centers.

Fondest memory: Photo: Fall in New England is a visual banquet. Here, a skift of snow dusts Vermont's Mt. Mansfield.
