"Musée du Louvre" Louvre Tip by OrlandoBR
Louvre, Paris: 796 reviews and 1,585 photos
On my first visit to Paris I took a cab from Gare de Lyon, coming from Genève, and the driver (first in a series of numerous friendly French people) would introduce us to a few sites in Paris along the way to our hotel in the Étoile area. We passed by the Louvre on the opposite bank of the Seine, and it struck me just how huge it was. I think it's about half a kilometer long, no kidding. Then I said 'C'est immense' and the cab driver kindly corrected 'Vous voulez dire 'enorme''.
So, it's really big and full of great works of art of many different periods. It's simply impossible to see it all, and even those who are not so much into plastic arts will find there enough entertainment to fill an entire day.
