"Was that a Taxi?" Göteborg Transportation Tip by Todd64

Göteborg Transportation: 98 reviews and 108 photos

Well,...being that I came from Canada, I found the best way to get to Göteborg-Landvetter-Airport was by plane but, 'how do I get to the city itself' you ask? Well, there are many ways: City Bus, Rent-a-car, hitchhike, but I took a Taxi.(not unlike the one pictured here) For a flat rate of SEK 295, ($33.50 USD)you can be picked up and whisked away to your destination within the city by one of the many competant drivers of Taxi Göteborg. Not only do these charming fellows know the intimate nuances of the Swedish highways and the subtleties of its' native users, but if you promise them a SEK 50 tip for their service, they'll give you the 'Kenny Bräck White Knuckle-Fest Tour Package' which includes: a blurred view of the countryside, free use of the in-car EKG machine, a pair of cool sunglasses, your own personal paper hankerchief and a complimentary road sickness bag bearing Stockholm's Coat of Arms. (I wonder what the symbolism of that is?) It's no wonder Scandinavians are so prevalent in auto racing these days; there have been massive layoffs in the Taxi industry, and these zippy fellow's had to find some sort of gainful employment, didn't they?
