"Rue de..." Restaurants around Grand' Place Tip by starchaser

Rue de Boucher/Beenhouwersstraat , near the Grokmarkt square. This area has lots of fancy looking restaurants with touts who come up to you the minute you set eyes on the menu outside - don't bother. These places are ultra expensive and tourist traps - keep walking and look out for fast food cheap alternatives like Quick or Burger King. Ok, fast food aint healthy, but at least you wont be ripped off enormously. Also, have a look out for cafes and brassieries away from this area - you'll find that the prices become more reasonable the less 'touristy' the place looks. At the end , roughly, of Rue de Boucher/Beenhouwersstraat we came across a dirt cheap kebab & fish'n'shop shop - kebab was 3 euros, scampi & chips 3 euros. It wasn't fancily done up like the other places so you might miss it.
