Tourist traps are everywhere in Sydney. Avoid the expensive and boring bus tours unless you like the 'snap a picture as you drive by' kind of good time. Also, tourist shops touting supposedly authentic trinkets made by aboriginals are rampant in the Rocks area. Give these kind of places a wide berth.
