"Like in Saint Petersburg (even..." Moscow Hotel Tip by Pavlik_NL

Like in Saint Petersburg (even more) hotels are expensive in Moskva. Again one must know that three stars doesn't mean anything and many hotels belonging to the former Intourist-group are enormous (a few thousand rooms is not an exception) and rather unpersonal. Checking in could still be easy in Saint Petersburg, but in the capitol this takes quiet some time (bureaucratic nonsense is still more important then efficiency and business-intentions).

The Ukraina-hotel gives the opportunity to stay inside one of the seven huge Stalinistic sugarpie-buildings of Moskva.

Homestays at families gives the opportunity to get to know Moskovian people and is rather well priced. The Russians are welcoming you warmly and will help you out in all your Moskva-intentions. However, these places are mostly far from the centre, but if you're not looking up against independent metro-travel, this also doesn't need to be the trouble.
