The Prospect of Whitby Pub is has been around since the 1500's and was also known as the Devil's Pub. This place give you a good view of the Thames while you sit and have a bite to eat (or just a good pis.s-up).

This was a haunt of a notorious judge that enjoyed the practice of watching the hanging people whilst eating at the pub. Near the pub you'll find the Execution dock. After the hanging, the felon would be pinned to the Thames river wall and left there for three tides.

You can get to this pub quite easy. Just hop on the East London Line and get off at the Wapping tube stop. Once you exit the station turn left (or head in the direction of the City) and follow Wapping High Street until you see the pub on your left.
