Ayanta & Sirtaki: "In january I went to..." Utrecht Restaurant Tip by sandravdp

In january I went to restaurant Ayanta, a perfect Indian restaurant at the Oudegracht downstairs next to the canals. Inside the place is perfectly Indian and the food is great! I went here on the invitation of 'our' travelgroup with whom we went to India! It was great to so eachother again in these surroundings.

Also nice in Utrecht is the Greek restaurant Sirtaki in the Servetstreet. Inside the place looks like a fishermanshouse, everywhere are fishingnets, pictures, postcards, roman statues, blue painted wood and bottles of wine.
Ayanta: Indian carpets hang on the wall, tables are low, you can sit on pillows, Indian music is played here.
Sirtaki: greek music, the inside of the restaurant looks like you're on a sunny holiday somewhere.

Favorite Dish: Ayanta: naan (crispy bread), fish & vegetables in a leaf, curryrice and lamb. For desert: fluffy icecream!
Sirtaki: grilled octupus, snales in creamsauce, mussles with onions, souflaki (kind of satémeat on a pen with paprika, onions and garlicsuace) & for desert baklava (honey, nuts, sugarsirop in a kind of bakingsurrounding)! Drink: ouzo (tastes like jenever / gin)
