"Instead of saying 'Ciao', it..." Florence Local Custom Tip by Patricialuv

Florence Local Customs: 145 reviews and 192 photos

Instead of saying 'Ciao', it is always better to greet working people (like waiters, store clerks, etc) with Buon Giorno, (good day), Buona Sera (good evening), and Buona Notte (good night). Ciao is more acceptable with people you've already met.

At night make sure you cover your legs, and it's not b/c of some religious reasons. The reason is because only tourists wear shorts, so it's easy to distinguish who's who. I personally wore both shorts and long pants, but at night the temperature drops a good 20 degrees F., so it really is recommedable to wear them anyways.

You will notice how rich in Architecture, Renaissance Art and Historic Scuptures Florence is. I really appreciated the arts and masterpieces more than ever before.
