"Bernadotte" Oslo Favorite Tip by GUYON

Oslo General: 234 reviews and 263 photos

Favorite thing: Have a look to Bernadotte statue, in front of the Royal Palace.

Fondest memory: Bernadotte (Karl Johan) was a Napoleon's Marshal.
He was chosen to be the King of Sweden and he was faithful to his new country against his former Emperor (Napoleon was very saddened of that).
So he was within the coalition against France and he received Norway as a reward. Fabulous fate, for a son of a poor French worker. His family is still on the Swedish throne.
