"St Pauls Church " Asia Things to Do Tip by keeweechic

Asia Things to Do: 396 reviews and 650 photos

St Pauls Church was once a burial ground for the Dutch and their aristocratic dead. It was originally built by a Portuguese Captain. The Dutch renamed the church which had been caused ?Our Lady of the Hill? to St Pauls. It is believed that St Francis Xavier was for a short time enshrined in an open grave here in 1553 before his body was shipped to Goa in India.

Jonker Street as it was known, is now called Jalan Hang Jebat. This is the place to go if you are antique shopping or just looking for some good bargains.
