From Europe - fly! It's worth noting that prices vary a lot, generally according to the season. If you're on a budget, consider avoiding the summer as airfares are usually sky-high at this time.<BR>
I got a shuttle van from JFK airport to the hostel, which saved me a few dollars, but took a little more time as it does several drop-offs. When I went on via La Guardia airport, I got the bus (the M60 route) - very cheap!
The <font color=blue>subway</font> is excellent, and unless the weather is very extreme, walking is good too. If you're not pushed for time, I'd recommend <font color=blue>walking</font> because there's so much to see!
