BEIT SHEAN: HA-GAI ROAD. A 14 meter high bridge, built in the Roman period spanned the riverbed of Nahal Harod, situated northeast of the city; massive ramps, 18 meters wide, led up to the bridge and down to the colonnaded street. Travlers approaching the city would first view its splendors from the top of the bridge.
