Chumley's: "Chumley's" Chumleys - CLOSED Tip by kucha

Chumleys - CLOSED, New York City: 1 reviews and 1 photos

This was a literary speakeasy in the 1920's during Prohibition. It is supposedly the only real speakeasy left in the country. The entrances are, therefore, hidden and very few people can find it the first time around the block!

The walls are covered with books and a fireplace is always going during the winter season. Brunch is great, as is a late afternoon beer after walking around the Village.

Favorite Dish: Any of the soups are delicious and warming on a cold afternoon. The micro-beer selection is unusual.
