Charles Bridge, Prague: 413 reviews and 765 photos

This crosses the river and leads into Stare Mesto. The bridge is a popular place for souvenir sellers, musicians and artists. The musical tradition stretches back a long way.

There is a common legend associated with the bridge that the eighth statue to the right is a monument to Jan Nepomucky, confessor to Queen Zofie. He was thrown over the side of the bridge for not disclosing the queen?s secrets to (Good) King Wenceslas . He was tortured in many manners using hot branding irons and other various torture weapons. But still he did not disclose any information to the king and so the king ordered for him to be drowned in the river.

When he fell into the water a halo of five gold stars is supposed to have appeared. The spot where he fell is marked by a cross. If you put one finger on each star and make a wish then your dreams will be realisede. You will also ensure that you will get to visiti Prague again (I hope I touched them!)
