<font color=blue><b>Brandenburg Gate </b>
The building of the Brandenburg Gate was ordered by Friedrich Wilhelm II to represent peace. However the gate became part of the Berlin Wall and was closed during the Communist rule. The gate is now seen as a symbol of the reunification of the city and is in the centre of Berlin joining the former East with the West sides of the city.

Like many buildings in Berlin it was badly damaged during World War II. When it was renovated the East Germans took off the Prussian Iron Cross. After the city was reunited it was replaced. After the parrties of 1989 and 1990 it was repaired again.
