Favorite thing: Turkey has over 9000 plants and national parks.The Eastern Black Sea coast has heavy rainfall throughout the year and warm summers.There are forests growing on the mountain slopes of Beech,Oak and Maple trees.There are also tea plantations.Most of northwestern Turkey is covered in chestnut,pine and sycamore trees.Central eastern Turkey has a wide variety of cacti(spiky) growing during the long hot summers.Red Anatolian poppies grow wild throughout Turkey and are commercially grown in southwest Turkey for use in codeine medicines.
Oriental tobacco is grown on sunbaked slopes in western Turkey and the Black Sea region by ...600,000 farmers.Hazelnuts are also very popular and cotton and sesame seeds too.Tomatoes are grown everywhere.

Fondest memory: Farmers dried their sesame seeds out by standing them in a pyramid shape on top of thier roofs.As i travelled to my hotel,i saw the farmers picking cotton out of the fields.It looked just like cotton wool balls from a distance.Several times the bus had to brake for farmers walking thier sheep and goats across the road.The farmers were very friendly and gave us a wave and hello,so did the children who were then coming out of school.
