"Leicester Square" London Tourist Trap Tip by derry

London Tourist Traps: 435 reviews and 348 photos

Londoners are mystified by the tourist appeal of Leicester Square. There is actually very little there unless you want to go to the cinema (there are a very large selection of these!).

Unique Suggestions: Take a short walk to something more interesting - Chinatown to the north, the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery to the south, or the bookshops of Charing Cross Road to the east!

Fun Alternatives: If you want to see bright lights, there are the marginally more interesting advertising hoardings of Piccadilly Circus, five minutes away. For nightlife, look in Time Out magazine for full listings (almost none of which are in Leicester Square!)
