Favorite thing: There are four major festivals in Barbados. The largest is Crop over.A revival of the traditional celebration of the sugar cane harvest. This starts the season of the decorated cart parade and loads of street parties.
Then Kadooment Day starts with costumed people and parades from dawn til dusk.
For more info ,call the National Cultural Foundation tel:424-0909.

Fondest memory: In Febuary, the Holetown Festival starts and it commemorates the first settlers who landed in 1627.A week of performances end with a two day street fair. The Oistins Fish Festival brings a carnival atmosphere to a small village through the easter weekend.People have fishing contests and stalls sell local produce and home cooked foods.
The National Independance Festival of Creative Arts celebrates Barbadian Independance each november with dancing competitions, drama, art, writing etc.
