Favorite thing: APARTHEID.The Boer-dominated National party won the 1948 national election with the policy of apartheid(which means state being apart). They stayed in rule til 1994.They soon layed laws down.No mixed marriages,no inter-racial sex(illegal).Everyone was seperated by race, including where they lived. There was seperate public facilities, seperate beaches, seperate toilets, seperate buses, seperate schools, seperate everything.
Black people had to carry identity documents at all times and had to have permission to visit a town.Their right to vote was also taken away.Lots of black people hated this(understandibly)and people fought against it.In the 1960,s black groups campained against this including Nelson Mandella. He was put into prison for 27 years. He was imprisoned on Robin Island.

Fondest memory: Here is a beautiful house on the Stellonbosch wine route.
