The Victoria Mansion ,an Italianate brownstone home, is a fusion of 'trompe l'oeil' frescoed walls and ceilings, a flying staircase, Italian marbled mantels and stained-glass windows. Constructed in before the Civil War in 1859 by New Orleans hotel tycoon Ruggles S. Morse, this beauty retains most of her original Heurter furnishings thanks to descendants who have returned heirlooms to the museum.
